How often does your breast fed 3 month baby boy eat?

My 3 month old feeds every 2 to 2.5 hours at night and in the day. He's 18lbs and 26" long. Is he feeing too often? What should be the norm? Should I be concerned?

I was doing that with my 3 month old too (now he's 6 months) but got tired of it quickly (no kidding!) :) I started to stretch it out more during the day - trying to only feed him if he was crying for it instead of just opening up my shirt every two hours. We stretched it out to every 4 hours and when he got used to going longer during the daytime, it transferred over to the night too, When he wakes up at night I give him a pacifier and see if he'll go back to sleep - I was surprised when he just took the pacifier and didn't fuss for food. If your baby is 18lbs already at 3 months (congrats! That's great growth!), then he doesn't really NEED the milk as much. Just try to stretch it out and see what happens, but no, you shouldn't be concerned, he might be going through a little spurt.

My little one would feed every 3-3.5hrs or so. Cluster feeding was every hour (that's when they're going through a growth spurt and just can't get enough). At 5 months, I got extremely depleted and talked to my doctor about supplementing with formula. Because of how he was feeding and growing (like weed), the doctor agreed that maybe I wasn't producing enough for him to be effective. Once I started supplementing, it was grand! I pumped if I needed to and he got fed properly. Made me feel better knowing he was getting enough food to sustain his growth. (He's now 10 months, 23lbs and 32" long - not at all a "milk-fat baby")
