I'm looking for some "new" books to read to my 3 month old, I have the popular "Goodnight Moon", "the Very Hungry Caterpillar" etc....the classics, but I was looking for some hidden treasures that maybe were not so popular, any suggestions?

"Big Red Barn" is wonderful (same author as "Goodnight Moon") as are "Hug" and "Goodnight Gorilla". The last 2 are mostly pictures with very few words and were very popular with all 3 of my girls.

We have 2 books from when I was a child.  My son loved them, these were the 2 books he always went to first, when it was story time!  I still have them & my 2 year old nephew loves them as well.  The 2 books popular then & still are well loved... is a book of classic nursery rhymes/lullabies & the other is the classic stories/fables.  Back in the 70's we had a door to door salesman & my mother bought the encyclopedias he was selling.  Along with the set, came 2 wonderful childrens books!  They were classics then... they are classics now!

My son was given this book as a b-day present & to this day... it makes me cry!  It's called, "Love You Forever", by Robert Munsch.

"Big Dog, Little Dog" is my husband's favorite while I still love "Ferdinand the Bull".  They might be a little older but they tell a great story and have great pictures.  Also, I'm a sucker for anything from Robert Munsch.
